I am a registered clinical psychologist providing assessment, consultation, and treatment to children, adolescents, and parents. I obtained my Doctorate Degree in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University and my post-doctorate research was at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. I have worked in a range of hospital and community mental health settings, including Markham Stouffville Hospital, Surrey Place, Boomerang Health, and York Hills. Knowledge translation is a passion for me and I regularly consult with hospitals and community teams, co-author publications on child and youth relationships and mental health, as well as lecture at York University.

As a scientist-practitioner, my work is guided by evidence-based methods. Thus, my therapeutic work integrates cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and play therapy. In providing a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space, I tailor my therapeutic modalities to each individual client to help them reach their goals and live in line with their values. By learning about each client’s strengths and relative difficulties, I am able to optimize mental health by building on the clients’ strengths.

In addition to therapy and parent consultations, I have extensive experience conducting comprehensive psycho-educational, developmental, gifted, attentional, and socio-emotional assessments. I also have a special interest in developmental disabilities and I have worked closely in both clinical and research context with various agencies to support children, youth, and parents with developmental disabilities. Since 2015, I have served as a Clinical Director of the Strong Minds Program with the Special Olympics Ontario, a mental health initiative to support Special Olympics athletes and their families in developing coping tools to manage stress. These experiences have helped foster appreciation for developing practical tools for children and youth to use in everyday life and to work with their support systems (families, schools, coaches) to enhance understanding of mental health.
